Bushcraft is the art of living in the wild using the natural surroundings to provide the four basic requirements: fire, shelter, food and water. Lancashire Bushcraft courses and activities enable students to develop skills and knowledge in a safe environment, and whilst occasionally some lessons can be classroom based, the majority of learning takes place outdoors, with an emphasis on gaining practical, hands-on experience. Our woodland venue serves our needs quite well with the added bonus of a river running through it.

In September 2011 Lancashire Bushcraft received funding from Chorley Community Housing Authority to deliver activities within the community for 2011/2012. Alongside our sister organisation, Iwama Ryu North West Aikido , we shared a funding pot of £6000 to provide Bushcraft and Aikido sessions to young people from the Chorley area of Lancashire.

Lancashire Bushcraft was founded as a non profit organisation in June 2011.

There are regular Bushcraft lessons every Saturday morning, and regular Bushcraft Courses can range from a two hour introduction to a three / five day trip.
